Bold Voices, Bright Futures- Community Foundation Chief Executive Joins Pride Leadership Panel

Community Foundation North East Chief Executive, Rob Williamson, joined a panel discussion alongside North East Combined Authority Mayor Kim McGuinness and Carol Bell of Creative UK at the Out of Office North East and Northern Pride ‘Bold Voice, Bright Futures’ event in June. The event, held during Pride Month, brought together professionals and community leaders to explore progress for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) communities, and the role of leadership and allyship in driving inclusion.

Organised by Matt Bratton and hosted by Clive Reeves, the event welcomed around 80 attendees and was hosted by law firm Ward Hadaway. The panel reflected on the importance of visible leadership, inclusive workplaces, and the power of networks in supporting LGBT professionals across the region.

Rob Williamson, Chief Executive of the Community Foundation, commented:

“It was a privilege to join Mayor McGuinness and Carol Bell in a conversation that highlighted the importance of allyship and leadership in creating inclusive communities. Events like this are vital in ensuring that progress continues and that all voices are heard.”

The Out of Office North East network hosts regular professional events aimed at encouraging connection, visibility, and support for LGBT professionals and allies across the region. The event was held in partnership with Northern Pride, which continues to champion equality and celebration for the LGBT community in the North East.
