I’m really pleased to have joined the team at Community Foundation North East as the Development and Marketing Officer.
My role focuses on building and maintaining relationships with donors and businesses and making sure our communications reflect the incredible work happening across the region. I’m passionate about storytelling and making sure the voices of small, local charities are heard and celebrated.
I’ll be looking after our eNews, social media channels and wider communications to share the impactful work community groups are doing across the region and highlight key funds as and when they open.
Before joining the Foundation, I worked at the Elders Council, a small charity supporting older adults in Newcastle, as their Projects Coordinator. My background is in literature and communications, and I’m currently studying part-time for a Master of Letters in Literature. Alongside my work, I’ve volunteered with advocacy groups, edited literary journals, and performed in local theatre (including a stint as a glittery mermaid in Peter Pan– a highlight!).

The last couple of months have been a great introduction to the Foundation’s work. From attending our parliamentary afternoon tea reception with expats, MPs, Lords and key stakeholders, to meeting our business partners at summer networking events across the city, I am getting a clear picture of everything we do at the Foundation. Everyone I am working with is deeply committed to making a difference in our communities, and I’m excited to be part of that and share stories from our vibrant region.
I’m really looking forward to seeing what the future has in store and the difference we can continue to make to communities in the North East.
